About big sisters club
What started as a blog has grown to become an organization that empowers and inspires big sisters through the upliftment of self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-expression. We aim to close the gap between loving who we are now and improving to be the best versions of ourselves as we navigate this idea of womanhood.
We're about creating safe spaces and discussing real experiences that are often overlooked or considered 'taboo' topics. We look to work together as women to provide support and advice to each other in hopes of developing into the women we are destined to become.
We all play some sort of 'big sister' role to someone so let’s seek to learn from those before us and empower those that come after us.
About the Founder
Hey, I'm Tash 👋🏾!
Behind my pretty smile and bubbly personality, I used to struggle with self-confidence, self-expression, and self-acceptance. I always felt more pressure as the eldest daughter to grow up quickly because I was responsible for taking care of my 3 siblings and often took on additional household and parental duties as a child. This left me feeling overwhelmed and led me to struggle as a people pleaser and contact cycles of burnout in young adulthood.
Honestly, sometimes I still struggle because I’ve realized that as I grow and learn more about myself and the world around me, being myself while remaining empowered becomes more and more difficult.
The transition from teenager to young adult was not easy. Not growing up with my own big sister to provide guidance and support the way I have to my siblings, made me feel resentful & lonely in my experience. Today I’m choosing to embody that ideal big sister that I would've loved as a child & teen and empowering other big sisters to do the same!
Based in Toronto 🇨🇦, I started @bigsistersclub_ because I wanted to create a space where big sisters in their 20s could connect, share experiences, and support each other in their self-development journey.
I want to be the big sister I never had…
I’m just a girl who desires self-awareness and strives to live her best life. After writing to help me cope with and better articulate my emotions, I decided these words were worth sharing with other big sisters struggling to become self-aware or simply trying to figure themselves out.
I am no psychologist, nor do I aspire to be one. I'm just a woman hoping to make a difference in another girl’s life through my words. I’m excited to have you here on this journey!
Love big sis,
Tash💗
