In this event, we will discuss the Black Woman’s experience and the different trials & tribulations we go through. You will hear from panelists, Kelsey Hall & Genelle Pollydore, on their experience in overcoming adversity while facing oppression and how that’s impacted them as a black woman with myself as the moderator. Through sharing your story, my goal is to have the young black women and allies join the discussion and leave feeling empowered to go after whatever they want by feeling proud of their identity.

As apart of our new initiative, we kicked off The HerStory Collective through a panel discussion event where young women heard from women of colour on their experience in reaching their achievements while facing oppression as a woman and a person of colour. The goal for women attending this event is to leave feeling empowered to go after whatever they want and feel proud of their identity instead of seeing it as a shortcoming.
This was the very first event by the Big Sisters Club where we discussed best practices for staying productive and positive during the current situation of COVID-19! We offered a workshop session where we exchanged our current strategies for coping during quarantine and developed new ones to help us manage for the next few weeks.
