“Being one of the five Black women in the design program of my year has taught me a lot about myself, the design industry & how important it is to be surrounded by people that are like you. When I look back at the past three years of being a designer, I realize that there were certain things that I needed to grow as an individual & creative.” - @andrenarachel.design

“The lack of representation of Black woman designers in my program (students & faculty) and industry, in general, has motivated me to strive for more and make a change. Black creatives are often underappreciated and often discredited which used to make me insecure about my work. I often doubted myself & compared myself to others because I felt like my work was not “good design” or failed to live up to the standards in place at my school. During the pandemic, I've become more confident in my work and myself as a whole. I’ve connected with so many new Black creatives & it has opened me up to different styles of design that inspire me.”- @Andrainyy
